Black Book National Auto Research is a wholesale vehicle pricing guide that provides auto dealers with wholesale pricing on a weekly basis. They also exclude all data on damaged vehicles in their guide books. These ads were created to target owners of automobile dealerships by pointing out why it's a mistake to use any other wholesale vehicle pricing guide book. As a result of this branding strategy, the president of Black Book commented that these were best ads they had ever used and that they received multiple new leads.
